Claims Specialist

The Claims Advocate will utilize their technical expertise to manage complex workers compensation claims, achieving the most favorable outcomes through thorough investigation and analysis of work-related events.

• Apply knowledge of workers compensation laws, statutes, and regulations to assigned jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with management, human resources, defense counsel, and third-party interests to leverage resources and support throughout the claims handling process.
• Manage multiple jurisdictions and develop a deep understanding of workers compensation laws.
• Ensure timely payment of indemnity payments.
• Exercise strong decision-making and problem-solving skills to assess claim validity.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
• Work effectively under pressure and contribute to stressful situations.
• Utilize computer software and applications to track file progress.

• 5-6 years of experience with complex, lost time, and litigation workers compensation files.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills for internal and external collaboration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
