Role Summary
The Financial Analyst for Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) is an essential role within our Global Treasury Controllership. This team oversees one of the key funding mechanisms for American Express, which involves the securitization of Card Member receivables and loans. Your expertise will contribute to the management of assets transferred to securitization trusts, which subsequently issue securities to investors.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cash settlement activities using the ABS system, ensuring accuracy in daily cash transactions.
- Manage accounting functions, including daily entries, updates to ABS models, and thorough documentation of processes.
- Prepare and file the monthly trust servicer report, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Oversee reporting activities, including regulatory submissions, intercompany balance reporting, and monthly reconciliations.
- Maintain a robust internal control environment, adhering to SOX and other compliance standards.
- Support the automation of ABS processes and act as a subject matter expert for the ABS Suite.
- Deliver monthly and ad-hoc data submissions to business and finance leadership in a clear and effective manner.
- Collaborate with treasury, legal, technology, and other business partners to enhance the asset-backed securitization process.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 1-2 years of experience in accounting.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas succinctly.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Confidence to engage with senior executives and contribute to discussions.
- Detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Strategic mindset with the capability to analyze data from various perspectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Asset-Backed Securities.
- Understanding of card economics.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually, plus bonus and benefits.
