About the Position

The Grant Writer will play a crucial role in securing philanthropic funding and investments to support Community Life and resident-centered projects. This position will involve writing, reviewing, and researching grant proposals for public sources, as well as assisting with day-to-day department operations.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Institutional Giving Coordinators and Senior Director of Fund Development in tasks related to donor research, strategy, identification, cultivation, and stewardship at national and regional levels.
  • Write high-quality narrative for grant applications from public sources.
  • Support the Fund Development resource library and other processes, systems, tools, and materials for grant proposal development and department reporting.
  • Efficiently use development tools, systems, and outside resources to gather information from regional teams and corporate departments for grant proposals.
  • Timely and accurate donor database entry and reporting.
Requirements
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • A discipline record of writing on a deadline with clarity and accuracy.
  • An ability to listen and be open to new information and ideas.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize, multitask, and be self-directed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to create and maintain positive internal and external working relationships.
  • High energy and passion for The Community Builders mission.
Education & Experience
  • At least three - five years of relevant experience.
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Experience with Blackbaud Etapestry software is a plus.
