Job Summary:

The Certified Lead Teacher will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for young children. This includes developing and implementing lesson plans, supervising and managing the classroom, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement educational programs for young children
  • Supervise and manage the classroom
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children
  • Develop and implement lesson plans
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences and prepare progress reports
  • Participate in professional development opportunities
  • Lead weekly team meetings for classroom planning and updates
Qualifications:
  • Certified with a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in Early Childhood Education
  • Significant experience working as an Assistant Teacher in Early Childhood
  • 1+ years of experience working with children aged 3-5
  • DOI Fingerprinted/PETS
  • Ability to pass the state background check
  • Current CPR/First Aid Training a plus
  • Current DOE & DOH mandated trainings a plus
Skills and Abilities:
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Ability to take initiative in work assignments
  • Ability to work flexible hours and be flexible with the children
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to prioritize workload

  • Knowledge of Google Classroom preferred
Work Environment:

This position is classified as a union position under the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Day Care Council of New York and Local 205, Community and Social Agency Employees Union, District Council 1707, A.F.S.C.M.E., A.F.L.C.I.O.
