Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Teacher to join our team at KIPP NYC Public Schools. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and implementing a rigorous college preparatory curriculum aligned with Common Core standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Model a "whatever it takes" spirit to ensure student success.
  • Embody KIPP NYC's character strengths in all interactions and communications.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a healthy measure of character traits such as zest, grit, hope, love, social intelligence, gratitude, and a sense of humor.
  • At least two years of teaching experience preferred.
  • New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • A passion for being part of a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture.
  • A strong desire to become a better teacher by joining the KIPP NYC team and family.
  • Demonstrated success in raising the achievement levels of students within our KIPP NYC communities.
