Haven Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to oversee the efficient functioning of our outpatient behavioral health clinic. As an Outpatient Clerk, you will create a welcoming and structured environment for patients, ensuring they receive the support and organization they need to access mental health services.
Key Responsibilities- Manage patient appointments, scheduling assessments, medication consultations, and individual appointments as needed.
- Conduct daily appointment reminder calls to patients.
- Maintain accurate records of collections, authorizations, and referrals.
- Collect patient copays and deductibles, and calculate patient financial liability.
- Assist patients with billing inquiries and insurance verification.
- Manage referrals by scheduling appointments to ensure timely and accurate scheduling.
- Accurately input patient information and clinical notes into the electronic health records system.
- Maintain and organize patient records, both physical and electronic documents.
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral health, marketing, business administration, or a related field.
- Two years of office-based experience working with outpatient psychiatric services, with excellent organization, administrative, and customer service skills.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and general healthcare facility compliance.
CPI/CPR certification per policy.
