Job Title: Lead Direct Support Professional

At Resources for Human Development, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Lead Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Lead Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and/or mental health issues in achieving their highest level of independence.

Job Summary:

The Lead Direct Support Professional will work closely with the Site Supervisor to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and support to our consumers. This includes providing direct care, mentoring, and training to Direct Support Professionals, as well as collaborating with management to prepare for daily program operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with IDD and/or mental health issues
  • Mentor and train Direct Support Professionals in the implementation of Individual Service Plans (ISPs)
  • Collaborate with management to prepare for daily program operations
  • Develop and maintain organizational systems in assigned areas/homes based on the support needs of the individuals
  • Provide service to consumers in accordance with all state, local, and federal regulations
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent at a minimum; Associates or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Basic computer and internet literacy with the ability to utilize applications like emails, time recording, and other programs
  • Two years of experience working with individuals with IDD and/or mental health issues
  • Understanding of trauma, trauma-informed care, and the creation of trauma-informed environments
  • Valid driver's license
  • Subject to employment clearances, including FBI clearance, if applicable
Working Conditions:

The Lead Direct Support Professional will work in participant's homes and may be exposed to various environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and noise.
