Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and skilled Laborer Assistant to join our team at Alltex Staffing & Personnel. As a Laborer Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a variety of general labor tasks to maintain the upkeep of our yard and workshops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cross-train on alternate assignments and perform duties in other work areas to assist as needed.
- Assist coworkers in different departments to accomplish completion of tasks in a timely and safe manner.
- Perform tasks such as:
- Verifying heat numbers and quantity of pipe
- Installing strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit
- Painting, stenciling, sandblasting, or coating pipes
- Gathering, unloading, and preparing materials and equipment for daily tasks
- Carrying loads and unloading materials to designated areas
- Maintaining housekeeping in assigned work areas
- Operating various equipment and machinery to accomplish assigned tasks
Requirements:
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Punctuality and reliability (ability to work 40 hours per week)
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends (50-60 hours)
- Positive attitude and team player
- Ability to lift 50-80 pounds
- Ability to work in all elements
