Job Title: Subsurface Utility Engineering Specialist

Are you interested in a challenging career in utility engineering? T2 Utility Engineers is seeking a skilled Subsurface Utility Engineering Specialist to join our team in Henderson, NV.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist in the operation of SUE utility locating and designating equipment, including pipe and cable locators, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), and non-destructive vacuum excavation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of utility company prints and design plans, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
  • Operate SUE utility locating and designating equipment, including pipe and cable locators, GPR, and non-destructive vacuum excavation
  • Complete detailed and accurate daily reports, forms, and field sketches, both electronically and by hand
  • Use tools and equipment to conduct utility investigations, including jackhammer, pogo-tamper, concrete saw, compressor blower, vacuum hose, air lance, and hand tools
  • Drive commercial motor vehicles, with a valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Perform safety set-up and maintenance of traffic operations under direct supervision of senior field staff
  • Assist with survey and data collection tasks, supporting overall crew activities
  • Perform daily routine maintenance of equipment and vehicles
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 4+ years of experience in the utility locating industry or as a SUE Field Tech
  • Ability to read and interpret utility company prints and design plans
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical (U.S. only)
  • Ability to obtain a DOT medical card for CMV operation (U.S. only)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical movements necessary to operate heavy tools and equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors in all climates
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, up to 2 week continuous stay
  • Work nights and weekends when required to do so
  • Must have a good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • OSHA Safety certifications are a plus
