Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Preoperative Nurse to join our team at United Surgical Partners. As a Preoperative Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth transition of patients from admission to surgery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform verbal assessments with patients prior to admission, communicating information to relevant team members.
  • Ensure pre-operative care requirements are met through the use of the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Provide patient education and teaching as established by the department.
  • Maintain and promote patient safety by assessing physical and psychological needs.
  • Respond to telephone inquiries and perform outbound follow-up calls as requested.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Ambulatory Surgery Center or Pre-op or Pre-Admission Testing department.
  • State of Texas RN licensure and BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of telephonic assessment skills.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with healthcare applications, Microsoft, and/or Windows applications, web-based EHR systems.
