Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Mechatronics Technology Instructor to join our team at GeorgiaGov. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Mechatronics Technology courses, preparing lesson plans, and evaluating student progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver lectures and/or lab course material
  • Prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction
  • Evaluate students' progress in attaining goals and objectives
  • Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports
  • Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve educational objectives
  • Communicate students' progress to students and appropriate personnel
  • Accurately record pertinent information in students' records
  • Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports
  • Comply and submit reports in a timely manner, meeting all GPTC deadlines
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have an accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, with 3 to 5 years of teaching experience or 1 to 3 years of teaching in Mechatronics Technology related courses in a technical college environment.

Teaching experience must include Industrial Mechanics, Fluid Power Systems, and other Mechatronics based curriculum. In addition to teaching Mechatronics curricula, the adjunct instructor should also have experience training and overseeing students in each required Mechatronics Technology Laboratory.

Preferred qualifications include an accredited Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, with postsecondary teaching experience. Industry or teaching experience in Introduction to Mechatronics, Industrial Mechanics, Fluid Power Systems, Industrial Motor Controls, Basic Industrial PLC's, Industrial Instrumentation, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, and other Mechatronics Technology based courses is also desirable.

Familiarity with training systems such as Festo and Amatrol Virtual Training Software would be a plus for each candidate.

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
