About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Physician to join our team at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a Staff Physician Nuclear Medicine, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading our Nuclear Medicine service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret general nuclear medicine studies, nuclear medicine cardiac studies, and PET/CT studies
  • Administer therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals, including I-131 sodium iodide, Ra-223 dichloride, and Y-90 microspheres
  • Oversee compliance with NRC regulations and ensure the safe use of unsealed sources
  • Collaborate with the radiation safety officer and chief nuclear medicine technologist to ensure the smooth operation of the division
Requirements
  • Board certification in Nuclear Medicine or an NRC authorized user eligible diplomate of the American Board of Radiology
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
  • Residency training in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
