We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Community Porter to join our team at Center Space. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our properties, providing exceptional customer service to our residents, and contributing to a positive and welcoming community environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform janitorial duties, including sweeping, mopping, waxing, and vacuuming floors, emptying wastebaskets, dusting and wiping all surfaces, cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms, showers, and bathtubs, and cleaning kitchen and pantry areas.
- Clean all common areas, including parking garages, individual offices, clubroom areas, community rooms, model units, corporate apartments, mailbox areas, stairwells, storage areas, and elevators.
- Periodically clean windows in common areas and perform daily touch-up cleaning of tour paths and show apartment homes.
- Assist with light apartment maintenance and perform in-home service requests as needed.
- Responsible for the care, maintenance, and inventory of all necessary cleaning products, supplies, and equipment used at the property.
- Communicate any safety or risk concerns to management and operate within OSHA standards and company safety policies at all times.
- May be responsible for snow removal, including shoveling snow and de-icing walkways, depending on the property and need.
- Assist residents and team with high-level customer service and utilize work order systems for assignments and closes out tasks once completed.
- Background in custodial or facilities maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, MSDS sheets, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to understand and communicate with supervisor and tenants.
- Mathematical skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and calculate figures and amounts as it relates to cleaning solutions and areas.
- Reasoning ability, including ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer skills, including ability to efficiently use and navigate on the internet and use web-based timekeeping software.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be on feet, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, stoop, crawl, crouch, squat, kneel, use hands and fingers to grasp, grip, turn, and feel, reach above shoulders, push, pull, lift, and carry, operate cleaning equipment, and talk and hear or effectively and safely communicate.
Employee must be able to visually determine the difference between clean and unclean. Lift up to 10 pounds. Frequently lift and/or move pounds, climb ladders, and balance. Occasionally lift and/or move more than 25 pounds, although usually with the assistance of another employee and/or equipment.
