Ultrasound Technologist Job Description

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Hartford, Wisconsin.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies. The successful candidate will accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings, review patient medical records, and position patients for accurate ultrasound procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies
  • Accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information
  • Position patients for accurate ultrasound procedures
  • Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system
  • Communicate findings to physicians and analyze sonograms to synthesize sonographic information and medical history
Requirements
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within 3 months
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography
  • Competency in all general and/or vascular sonographic procedures routinely performed in the hiring department
Working Conditions

The Ultrasound Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards. Personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
