Company Overview

Position Overview

Timmons Group is seeking a Certified Land Surveyor to become a part of our esteemed Survey Division. The Certified Land Surveyor will oversee the effective execution of designated projects and manage client relationships. The ideal candidate will utilize relevant software and technology for design-related surveying tasks.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Overseeing project management
  • Driving marketing initiatives and client engagement, ensuring technical excellence, profitability, adherence to timelines, coordination of project teams, and maintaining client communication
  • Preparing proposals, negotiating project scopes and fees, managing billing processes, and assisting in fee collection when necessary
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients and promoting Timmons Group services beyond direct expertise
  • Managing multiple mid-sized projects, several smaller projects, or a single large project concurrently
  • Executing and managing projects that may involve ALTA/NSPS Land Title, boundary, route, topographical, construction, control networking, and high-definition surveys
  • Performing calculations using surveying principles and utilizing technology to resolve issues
  • Maintaining ongoing communication with the Group Leader, clients, staff, and internal design teams
Qualifications and Skills of a successful candidate include, but are not limited to:
  • Proficient in Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar CAD software
  • Experience with Leica, Trimble, or equivalent survey data processing software
  • Ability to create Machine Control Models
  • Familiarity with GPS/RTK technology
  • Preference for candidates with experience in Laser Scanning Technology
  • Strong understanding of project accounting and the ability to manage schedules and budgets for multiple projects
  • Experience in client development and oversight of technical work performed by others (Survey Technicians and field teams)
  • Proficient in technical and office support software necessary for the role
