About the Role

Cook Children's Health Care System is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide in-patient, out-patient, and/or neighborhood clinic services to children with feeding and swallowing disorders, articulation, voice, resonance, fluency, receptive/expressive language disorders, hearing loss, and the need for AAC devices.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to enhance development, restore function, and prevent disability from pediatric conditions, illness, and injury.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other professionals to provide comprehensive care and ensure seamless communication.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of patient care, including screening, assessment, evaluation, treatment, and home programming.
  • Engage in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and evidence-based clinical tools.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in speech/language pathology, communication disorders, or related field.
  • Pediatric experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse cultural and ethnic populations.
  • Spanish proficiency levels defined by Cook Children's Health Care System and measured by objective and nationally recognized oral language, reading, and writing tests.
  • CPR-BLS certification within 30 days of employment.
  • State license or eligible for state licensure.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech/Language Pathology or eligible for application upon completion of Clinical Fellowship Year.
