Job Summary:

Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team. As a DHH teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a profound impact on the education and lives of students with hearing impairments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Individualized Education Plans: Create and implement tailored education plans for students with hearing impairments, taking into account their unique needs and abilities.
  • Provide Direct Instruction: Deliver instruction to students in areas such as language development, literacy, and communication skills, utilizing specialized teaching strategies and assistive technologies.
  • Collaborate with Educational Teams: Work closely with other educators, speech therapists, and support staff to ensure the academic success and social-emotional well-being of students.
  • Conduct Assessments and Track Progress: Conduct regular assessments to track student progress and communicate with parents and caregivers about student performance and goals.

Requirements:

  • Valid Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Certificate: Possess a valid certificate in the state of Georgia.
  • Education and Experience: Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, and have previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
