POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role involves performing routine maintenance and repairs on various appliances, which encompass both commercial and residential units such as washing machines, refrigerators, stoves, ice makers, commercial disposals, dishwashers, and cooking equipment. The position demands practical expertise in disassembling, diagnosing, and testing electrical systems or components to ensure they function correctly, as well as repairing worn or defective mechanical parts and reassembling equipment for optimal performance. Responsibilities also include sourcing quotes for necessary materials and coordinating with suppliers and contractors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilize practical skills to disassemble, diagnose, and test electrical circuits or components for functionality.
- Repair mechanical parts that are worn, damaged, or defective.
- Reassemble and adjust equipment to guarantee peak performance.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization; US citizenship is necessary for this.
- High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience or formal vocational/technical training in electrical or utility trades; equivalent college education may substitute for experience.
- Successful completion of a drug/alcohol test and a criminal background check is mandatory.
- For roles requiring vehicle use, a safe driving record is essential as per company policy.
- Capability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance if required.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and twist for extended periods.
- Proficient use of hands and fingers for tool handling; ability to perform repetitive motions and reach above and below shoulder height.
- Capacity to lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Effective communication with colleagues via two-way radio and telephone.
- Ability to write or use a keyboard for written communication.
- Normal vision range with or without correction to read screens, blueprints, and plans.
- Normal hearing range with or without correction.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND DEMANDS:
Work may take place in both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to varying noise levels and weather conditions. Tasks may require working in confined spaces and using ladders or safety equipment to access hard-to-reach areas. Some duties may involve exposure to dust, particulates, and potentially hazardous materials.
