Job Description

The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the front desk operations during the evening and night shifts. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and excellent communication skills to ensure seamless guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guest Check-Ins and Check-Outs: Handle guest arrivals and departures efficiently, providing a friendly and professional service.
  • Shift Organization: Review remaining reservations, verify contingency reports, and ensure all necessary tasks are completed.
  • Credit Card Draft Capture: Verify that credit card drafts are in balance and complete any necessary reports.
  • File Management: File credit cards, keys, and completed reports in a secure and organized manner.
  • Express Checkout: Prepare express checkout envelopes and ensure they are delivered to guest rooms.
  • Guest Services: Assist guests with general services, such as check cashing, making change, and answering questions about hotel services, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
  • System Backups: Ensure the Property Management System is backed up nightly and stored in a secure location.
  • Wake-Up Calls: Handle wake-up calls promptly and properly.
  • Security Reports: Complete a person-in-charge security report, identifying any unusual events, and submit it to the General Manager for review.
  • Mail and Message Delivery: Receive and transmit mail, phone, and written messages for guests.
  • Account Balancing: Post room charges, food and beverage charges, phone charges, compute guest bills, collect payment, and make change for hotel guests, following all cash handling procedures.
  • Revenue Reporting: Complete daily revenue reports accurately and input daily summary records and same-day selling strategy reports.
  • Housekeeping Status Report: Prepare the AM Housekeeping Status Report, recording same-day checkouts, ready rooms, and rooms temporarily out of order.
  • Reporting and Monitoring: Report to the AM associate at the end of your shift, reporting any unusual conditions and occurrences, and monitor the graveyard Night Housekeeping/Security Aide to ensure assigned duties are completed.
  • Representing the Hotel: Represent the hotel in regard to guest complaints and situations that require immediate attention.
Requirements:
  • Front Desk Experience: Must have prior front desk experience.
  • Education: Minimum of a high school diploma and some college preferred.
  • Schedule: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Language: Must have a good command of the English language and be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Computer Skills: Must have solid computer skills, including core Microsoft applications and any additional brand-specific applications as needed.
  • Math Skills: Must have sold math skills.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead, train, and motivate team members.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving: Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Relationship-Building: Must possess solid relationship-building skills, people-focused, highly organized, and guest-centric.
  • Transportation: Must have reliable transportation.
