Role Summary

The Senior Economic Empowerment Specialist is responsible for the overall management of economic mobility initiatives through the "EEP+" program, which is part of the Economic Empowerment Programs department. This role focuses on assisting survivors of gender-based violence in enhancing their economic prospects through tailored vocational, educational training, and employment support. The specialist will co-create service offerings and oversee training sessions while providing case management and employment services to ensure survivors' economic needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of EEP to develop programming for "EEP+" aimed at enhancing economic mobility for survivors requiring individualized support in employment and literacy.
  • Coordinate training sessions focused on economic mobility for survivors of gender-based violence.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with community organizations, employers, staffing agencies, and cooperative businesses to broaden employment opportunities for EEP+ participants.
  • Manage the EEP+ program, delivering direct client services such as intake assessments, job search assistance, career counseling, and routine case management.
  • Implement and oversee service plans tailored to meet the economic mobility needs of victims of gender-based violence.
  • Ensure that EEP meets or surpasses its programmatic goals and outcome metrics.
  • Work closely with other Sanctuary providers, including legal and clinical staff, to ensure comprehensive client support.
  • Assist the Senior Director of EEP with additional duties or special projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in liberal arts, social sciences, human services, or a related field is preferred.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in program coordination, economic development, or workforce development is required.
  • Experience in launching cooperatives and developing entrepreneurial training is highly desirable.
  • Supervisory experience or experience directing volunteers and interns is a plus.
  • Strong strategic and operational thinking skills, with the ability to prioritize and monitor progress towards objectives.
  • Exceptional multitasking, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to diverse environments and engage with various constituencies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, alongside digital proficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to serving at-risk populations.
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding and capability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Dedication to the mission of ending gender-based violence.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $65,813 - $72,698 annually, based on relevant experience, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position with a hybrid work schedule.
