Job Title: Parts Counter Sales Associate

At The Pete Store, we're committed to providing exceptional customer service and building a team of dedicated professionals. As a Parts Counter Sales Associate, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive the best possible experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist customers in selecting required parts in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing phone traffic, providing excellent communication skills.
  • Support outside sales staff with technical, inventory, and pricing information.
  • Identify and record lost sales opportunities to maintain high inventory performance.
  • Follow up on outstanding back orders and aging will-call items.
  • Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
  • Coordinate with delivery drivers for daily delivery and pickups.
Additional Duties:
  • Review body shop estimates to ensure accurate part ordering and pricing.
  • Pull and fill orders from stock for local delivery and outside sales staff.
  • Restock incorrect or returned parts.
  • Notify the parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials requiring immediate attention.
  • Source, shop, and order emergency non-stock items from local vendors.
  • Communicate order status of special order items with all customers and service departments.
  • Pull orders for service and body shops, ensuring all parts are tagged with customer names and job numbers.
  • Return local special order parts to vendors if not picked up by customers.
  • Bill internal requests for parts on service repair orders.
  • Ensure all charge sales are signed by customers.
  • Provide customers with their copy of the invoice.
  • Issue credit for returned parts, verifying original invoices or numbers.
  • Maintain orderly records of repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts.
  • Ensure the showroom and display area are stocked, clean, and orderly.
  • Keep front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered.
  • Clean computer terminals and printers daily.
  • Maintain current training levels from available sources.
  • Present a professional appearance.
  • Solicit assigned accounts by phone.
Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

A valid driver's license is required. All applicants who accept employment will be required to complete a pre-employment drug/BG/MVR screen.
