Licensed Vocational Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at Mississippi Employer. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide essential support services to patients, ensuring their health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in sick call screening and physical examinations under the supervision of physicians and based on their orders and protocols.
- Record health care complaints and take patient histories.
- Take and record necessary vital signs for patients.
- Collect samples for laboratory examinations and issue routine medications.
- Record treatment provided according to physician's orders and protocol.
- Assist physicians in providing emergency health services in life-threatening medical emergencies, including suicide prevention.
- Participate in the screening and primary management of providing health services to offender patients in confinement based on physician's orders and using physician's protocols.
- Maintain examination rooms and check the operational status of health services equipment and supplies to ensure secure, ready-to-use status.
- Participate in continuing education and in-service training to maintain paraprofessional capability and proficiency.
- Maintain health services records and prepare designated reports as required.
- Conduct initial and ongoing medical examinations and assessments, document results of assessments.
- Give injections, take blood pressure, and temperatures.
- Prepare, administer, and record medications.
- Collect urine, draw blood, and administer oxygen.
- Care for minor wounds (sterile techniques).
- Perform other duties as required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Experience in providing health support services in a hospital, clinic, or infirmaries is highly desirable.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Must have two (2) years of Licensed Vocational Nursing experience.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Experience working in an institutional or residential setting is preferred.
- Must possess a license to practice as a professional nurse.
