Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Marshall Health. As a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Preparation: Greet patients, prepare them for physician examinations, and screen them for necessary information.
  • Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with licensed practical nursing standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and assist with the preparation of equipment, and aid physicians during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
  • Communication: Handle telephone inquiries from patients regarding test results, medications, and treatment instructions as directed by the physician.
  • Referrals and Hospitalizations: Arrange for hospitalization, referrals, or performance of special procedures for patients.
  • Clinical Environment: Maintain a clean, attractive work area and keep clinical areas stocked with appropriate medical supplies.
  • Instrument Cleaning: Clean and sterilize medical instruments, surgical trays, etc.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A graduate degree from a medical assistant program or school of nursing.
  • Ability to obtain certification for MA candidates.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting.
