Job Summary

The Alumnae House Inn at Vassar College is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaner - On-Call to provide temporary cleaning services during peak periods or to cover employee absences. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our hotel rooms, hallways, lounges, and public bathrooms.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all hotel rooms and their related bathrooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and restocking supplies as needed.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of all hotel hallways, lounges, and public bathrooms, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting.
  • Machine launder all robes, towels, bedspreads, and curtains, and put away all clean linen.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including assisting with special events and projects.
Requirements
  • One year of experience in facilities maintenance and care in a similar environment is preferred.
  • Ability to move, position, and place objects up to and including 25 pounds is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with guests and colleagues in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Willingness to work overtime as available, with overtime assigned according to seniority guidelines.
