Job Title: Family Violence Prevention Specialist
About Us: At Advanced Behavioral Health, we are dedicated to providing exceptional behavioral healthcare services that promote well-being and resilience in individuals and families.
About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Violence Prevention Specialist to join our team. As an MDFR Specialist, you will play a critical role in representing our organization and its services in a positive and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver MDFR Services: You will provide MDFR services on-site at DCF, in client homes, or in other community locations.
- Participate in Case Consultations: You may participate in DCF case consultation and service planning meetings.
- Bilingual Preference: Bi-lingual Spanish/English is preferred, with expertise working with Hispanic youth and families, and experience in the substance use field.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree or higher, with several years of experience working in the substance use treatment field.
- Certification: Required to become fully certified as an MDFR Specialist typically lasts 9-12 months.
- Ongoing Quality Assurance: MDFR staff participate in ongoing quality assurance activities after certification.
- State and Federal Compliance: Compliance with current State of Connecticut and federal health and vaccine requirements.
- Conflict of Interest Training: Attends annual Conflict of Interest training.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Engagement Services: Demonstrated knowledge of engagement services, substance use, mental health services, and community resources.
- Recovery and Stages of Change: Experience with and understanding of recovery and the stages of change.
- Transportation: Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, safe driving record, and be willing to transport clients in personal vehicle.
- Insurance: Proof of car insurance verifying minimum insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000/$100,000.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Computer Skills: Excellent PC skills with demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Package (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook); internet.
Compensation and Benefits: We offer a competitive salary of $70,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
Note: This is a full-time position with regular working hours and occasional evening and weekend shifts.
