Position Overview:


This role focuses on assessing children and families in distress and assisting them in coping with acute and/or ongoing medical and psychiatric challenges.

The position may offer support for both inpatient and outpatient medical and psychiatric services or conduct psychiatric evaluations for patients in emergency situations.


Services Provided May Include:

diagnostic assessments; consultations on behavioral management for medically and psychiatrically affected children; individual, play, and family therapy; case management and planning for appropriate dispositions.

This role also involves educating patients and families, providing practical coping strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evaluation and treatment services to patients and families facing complex psychosocial challenges; provide crisis intervention and emergency services as necessary.
  • Manage cases and coordinate disposition arrangements.
  • Participate in program development initiatives.
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility and apply problem-solving skills to meet billable and/or patient contact hour requirements.
  • Contribute to the educational mission of the hospital by collaborating with trainees as co-therapists and engaging in didactic sessions on relevant topics.
This is a full-time position operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications for Success:

Education:

  • Master's Degree

Licenses and Credentials:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Licensed Marriage-Family Therapist
  • Licensed Professional Counselor
  • Pediatric Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior
  • Basic Life Support Certification

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required
  • Preferred experience of at least 3 years in a related field

Licenses and Certifications:

  • State of Texas License at a Master's level (LPC, LMFT, LPT, or equivalent) required
  • Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers as mandated
