Job Title: HTVS Behavioral Health Specialist

Covenant House of NJ is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Human Trafficking Victims Services program, you will provide critical support to victims of human trafficking and individuals at risk of trafficking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to identify clients' needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Provide individual counseling and therapy sessions to clients, utilizing evidence-based approaches and creative strategies to address trauma and mental health concerns.
  • Lead the referral process to community-based mental health providers, ensuring seamless transitions and continuity of care.
  • Participate in weekly clinical supervision and contribute to the agency's case management process, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Document client sessions and track program data, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Represent Covenant House of NJ at agency functions, community partnership meetings, and other stakeholder events, fostering relationships and promoting the organization's mission.
  • Collaborate with the consulting psychiatrist/APN as needed, ensuring comprehensive care and addressing complex client needs.
  • Research and implement innovative therapies to treat individuals who have experienced trauma, staying current with best practices and evidence-based interventions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with outside mental health/substance use providers, ensuring a network of support for clients.
  • Ensure adherence to agency protocols regarding human trafficking, providing critical support to clients and staff.
  • Contribute to reporting on outcomes for Behavioral Health Services, informing program development and improvement.
Requirements:
  • State of New Jersey Licensed Social Worker (LCSW preferred)
  • One to three years of experience working with individuals impacted by trauma
  • Knowledge of issues affecting victims of human trafficking
  • Knowledge of local mental health systems
  • A valid New Jersey driver's license with an insurable driving record
  • Must have use of your own transportation
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
