Job Title: Anesthesia Medical Technician

At Pediatric Specialists of Virginia, we are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Medical Technician to join our team. As an Anesthesia Medical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical equipment and supplies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain medical equipment, supplies, and machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform tasks during and after surgery to ensure medical equipment is functioning properly.
  • Record observations and inspect transducers, calibrate monitors, and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
  • Provide assistance in preparing patients for surgical procedures, cleaning and disinfecting equipment, and replenishing stocks.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Analyze scheduled procedures to ensure sufficient surgical supplies and medical equipment are available.
  • Dispose of used supplies and equipment, replace parts, and restock supplies in accordance with CDC guidelines.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rate, and report any abnormalities to doctors.
  • Confirm medical depth and airway clearance for proper airflow during procedures.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of clinical experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center.
  • Current AHA BLS certification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least three years of experience as an Anesthesia Medical Technician.
  • American Society of Medical Technologists and Technicians certification.
  • Medical Technician Certification.
  • Medical equipment training course.
