Our organization is comprised of its main campus, UCI Medical Center, a 459-bed, acute care hospital in Orange, Calif., four hospitals and affiliated physicians of the UCI Health Community Network in Orange and Los Angeles counties and ambulatory care centers across the region.
Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the RN and Nurse Manager, the Same Day Surgery Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and performs adjunctive tasks to ensure total patient care. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of recent acute care experience and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to patients of all ages, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.
- Perform adjunctive tasks as needed to ensure total patient care.
- Work collaboratively with the RN and Nurse Manager to ensure seamless patient care.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
- At least 6 months of recent acute care experience.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
- Certification of completion of a Nursing Assistant course.
- Proficient in EKG's.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
