Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, ensuring all necessary documents and information are organized and easily accessible.
  • Coordinate new client intake, schedule consultations, and maintain communication with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Assist in the development of cases by drafting correspondence, assisting with discovery, and coordinating scheduling appointments, depositions, mediations, and judicial settlement conferences.
  • Enhance mediations, judicial settlement conferences, and trial proceedings by organizing evidence and preparing exhibits.
  • Protect the firm's interests by maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and update attorney calendars, ensuring timely and accurate scheduling.
  • Research company information and issue subpoenas as necessary.
  • Contribute to the firm's billing process by contemporaneously documenting tasks completed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably with a focus on business, real estate, wills/trusts/estates, and contract disputes.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a legal-related field or paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to type a minimum of 50 words per minute.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook, as well as legal case management systems (MyCase).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
