About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Professional Staff Nurse Ortho/Trauma Specialist to join our team at UPMC Western Maryland. As a member of our 6 West Ortho/Trauma Unit, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients, including those with orthopedic, trauma, neurological, and medical-surgical conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, taking into account the unique needs and goals of each patient.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Participate in unit-based shared governance, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that promote quality patient care and a positive work environment.
  • Engage in ongoing education and professional development, staying up-to-date on the latest evidence-based practices and technologies.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state where the facility is located.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
