Job Overview

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The main goal of the Inventory Control Specialist is to ensure precise inventory management through effective counting and handling of material reports and transfers. This role will also support various departments in identifying or confirming finished goods and raw materials.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Inventory Control Specialist will diligently and safely execute the following tasks:

  • Conduct daily inventory counts of materials utilizing the "ABC" classification system, under the supervision of the Operations Manager.
  • Carry out end-of-month and end-of-year physical inventory assessments.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and prepare accurate reports on inventory and bin locations.
  • Assist in identifying root causes of inventory discrepancies and aid in implementing corrective measures to prevent future occurrences. Respond promptly to inquiries from various departments.
  • Support warehouse personnel in locating necessary materials.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace at all times.
  • Perform any additional tasks or projects as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, stoop, reach overhead, and push/pull as necessary to fulfill job duties.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience (3 years preferred).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently.
  • Willingness to perform diverse functions within the warehouse department.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and best practices while reporting any unsafe or unprofessional conduct.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software to generate and compile reports, including spreadsheets.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Flexibility in work schedule to meet varying workloads and business demands, including the ability to work overtime as required.
