Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team at Alto Health Care Staffing. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to expectant mothers and newborns during the labor and delivery process.

Responsibilities:
• Assess and monitor the condition of expectant mothers and fetuses during labor and delivery.
• Administer medications and assist with medical procedures as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Provide emotional support and education to expectant mothers and their families.
• Monitor and record vital signs, fetal heart rates, and contractions.
• Assist with the management of high-risk pregnancies and emergencies.
• Prepare patients for labor and delivery and assist with the birthing process.
• Care for newborns, including performing initial assessments, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with breastfeeding.
• Ensure a safe and sterile environment in the labor and delivery unit.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Stay current with best practices and advancements in labor and delivery nursing.

Qualifications:
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

This is a 13-week assignment with 36 hours per week, working 12-hour night shifts from 7pm to 7:30am. The ideal candidate will have AHA BLS, NRP, NIHSS, and AWHONN certifications and an active NY license. Must be able to perform cervical checks.
