Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Polymers Engineer to join our team at LyondellBasell North America. As a key member of our Advanced Polymers Solutions organization, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our customers in the US/CAN region, focusing on the processing and performance of our supplied products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise to customers on plastic compound solutions, including troubleshooting, process optimization, and material selection.
  • Work closely with our Sales Account Managers to achieve business plans and growth targets at assigned customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, Sales Account Managers, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new applications, products, and processes that meet customer needs and drive business growth.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures related to business ethics, product stewardship, and safety.
Requirements
  • 4-year college degree in plastics/polymer engineering, chemical, or mechanical engineering, or 12+ years of relevant experience without a degree in a technical environment.
  • 8+ years of experience in a technical environment, preferably in R&D, Manufacturing, Application Development, Plastic Processing, and Customer Technical Support.
  • Specific experience in using additive masterbatches, involvement with film structures, and knowledge of film testing, and lab equipment is essential.
  • Fluent in English, with additional language skills a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine correspondence effectively, and speak fluently with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, as business needs dictate.
  • Valid driver's license and passport for international travel.
