Nurse Practitioner

The St. Cloud VA Health Care System is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide comprehensive medical services to veterans, including primary care, specialty care, mental health services, and rehabilitation. You will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care and improve health outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Admit and coordinate all aspects of care for hospitalized medical patients, including admission, evaluation and treatment, consultations with sub-specialists, and timely and proactive discharge planning.
Assess, diagnose, and manage patient problems, including prescription of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic intervention.
Order diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures, perform those tests and procedures when using health care equipment, and interpret and use the results of diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures ordered by the advanced practice registered nurse or another health care professional.
Provide palliative and end-of-life care, advanced counseling, patient education, health education, and patient advocacy.
Provide care to patients in critical care/acute care settings in conformance with VA policies, assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of inpatients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services.
Requirements:
Master's degree in nursing.
Current and unrestricted license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
Certified by the AANP.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from a provider recognized by the American Heart Association.
