Medical Physicist

Job Summary: We are seeking a Medical Physicist to join our team at Ascension. As a Medical Physicist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of care in the use of radiation-producing sources and imaging equipment, while protecting patients and staff from radiation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform required calibrations on equipment and recommend new equipment and products for the department.
- Conduct equipment performance reviews as needed and implement quality control procedures for imaging devices.
- Educate staff in radiation safety practices.
- Support all physics aspects of patient treatment, including consultation with radiation oncologists, calculation of radiation doses, design and fabrication of treatment aids, and assurance of accuracy.
Requirements:
- Medical Physicist credentialed from the American Board of Radiology obtained within 36 months of hire date or job transfer date required.
- D in medical physics and two years work experience or graduation from a diagnostic imaging physics residency.
- American Board of Radiology certification in Radiologic Medical Physics.
