As the "owner" of the location, this individual will be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, fiscal responsibility, process efficiency, employee safety, and employee development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hiring and Supervision

The Soybean Location Manager will be responsible for hiring, training, and supervising all employees at the location. This includes conducting annual reviews and providing a safe work environment through the implementation of company safety programs.

Customer Satisfaction

This individual will ensure complete customer satisfaction for seed produced, processed, or distributed from their location. This includes maximizing production of seed that meets all quality specifications and implementing the ISO Quality Management System.

Location Strategy

The Soybean Location Manager will communicate overall business and location strategy to location employees and ensure adequate staffing of location processes to meet customer and business needs.

Financial Management

This individual will develop the annual location budget and monitor spending throughout the production year. They will also evaluate location capacity vs. needs and recommend capital improvements.

Problem Solving

The Soybean Location Manager will initiate problem solving to improve location performance as needs arise.

Requirements
  • A 4-year college degree in Agriculture is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Agricultural background is beneficial.
  • Computer skills are required, with advanced skills preferred.
  • Understanding of seed production or minimum of four years of related experience is required.
  • Excellent communications skills with a positive attitude are essential.
  • Employee team building skills are necessary.
  • Attentive to detail and accuracy is crucial.
  • Well organized is a must.
