Dietary Cook

The Dietary Cook is a key member of our culinary team, responsible for preparing and serving meals to our residents. This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Review menus and ensure that all dietary procedures are followed
• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and standardized recipes
• Ensure that all food production is completed to assure meals are served on time
• Prepare and serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures
• Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner
• Follow sanitation and safety techniques in operation and cleaning of all equipment
• Report any hazardous equipment or accidents to the Housing Manager

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• Must be able to follow directions and perform assigned tasks
• Must be able to relate work with geriatric residents and understand their special needs
• Must complete 4 hours of Dementia training within 160 hours of start of employment and 2 hours annually thereafter
