Education Assistant II or III

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Assistant II or III to join our team at Aroostook County Action Program. As a key member of our early childhood education team, you will work closely with teachers to plan, prepare, and implement engaging classroom activities and field trips. Your role will also involve facilitating parent engagement through conferences, home visits, and parent meetings, as well as encouraging classroom volunteer participation.
Key Responsibilities- Assist teachers in planning and implementing programs to meet children's physical, social, emotional, and educational needs.
- Work with teachers to use outcome reports and IEPs in classroom planning.
- Observe children and document observations.
- Prepare and supervise meals and snacks as required by program and/or staffing.
- Share in maintenance of center, equipment, and supplies.
- Complete programmatic and Agency reports as required.
- Assist teachers with home visits, onsite visits, and parent conferences.
- Oversee staff and volunteers in absence of the teacher.
- 1-2 years of experience working with children in a child care setting required.
- Classroom experience in Early Childhood Education.
- Excellent listening skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Must pass required background checks.
- Must hold current C.H.R.C.
- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and provide proof of insurance.

Must have the ability to arrange classroom equipment, lift and move furniture, sit in small chairs and on the floor for extended periods of time, and work at low tables.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
