Job Summary

Rose International is seeking highly skilled Gearbox-Motors Assembly Technicians to join our team. As a key member of our assembly team, you will be responsible for the overhaul and rebuilding of locomotive gears, ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble components according to drawings and guidelines.
  • Inspect and adjust completed motors to ensure they meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
  • Assemble parts or units, and position, align, and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames.
  • Measure parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and verniers.
  • Align, fit, or assemble component parts, using hand or power tools, fixtures, templates, or microscopes.
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, bills of materials, or reports to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions.
  • Explain assembly procedures or techniques to other workers.
  • Clean working areas and parts, using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths.
  • Drill or tap holes in specified equipment locations.
  • Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan or review work activities or to resolve production problems.
  • Conduct 6S audits and safety walks.
  • Participate in work groups / projects in order to inform oneself and to provide information to the others and to optimize processes and workflows.
Requirements
  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience with electromechanical assembly.
  • Extensive wiring experience.
  • Direct assembly experience reading and interpreting schematic drawings.
  • Ability to physically lift 35 pounds.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications.
  • Knowledge of environmental health and safety laws and procedures.
  • Knowledge of product, workmanship standards, and assembly procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of computer software applications.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of machines, power tools, and hand tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and operator level maintenance.
  • Knowledge of basic lean principles and techniques for optimizing processes and eliminating waste.
