Optical Surface Technician

HOYA Vision Care is seeking a skilled Surface Technician to join our team. As a Surface Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our lenses by performing various tasks such as inspecting blocks, applying blocks to lenses, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise. You will also be responsible for maintaining our machines and following standard operating procedures (SOPs) for tasks such as washing lenses and operating coaters. Additionally, you will be required to work overtime, Saturdays, and Sundays, and some holidays when needed. If you have experience working with automated equipment and are able to work independently with minimal supervision, we encourage you to apply for this role. **Key Responsibilities:**

* Inspect blocks to ensure they are clean and in good condition before use
* Apply blocks to lenses using blocking machine and alloy material
* Troubleshoot for possible mistakes from layout area
* Maintain machines daily
* Follow SOP for Crest ultrasonic to wash lenses
* Follow SOP to operate MR3 coaters
* Use card printer, mark up progressive marking, and inspect Class Plus
* Maintain polish filter

**Requirements:**

* High School Diploma or GED
* None required

**Working Conditions:**
