About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our team at Asplundh. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel with maintenance-related supplies to dispersed equipment and perform on-site maintenance activities on all machinery and vehicles.
  • Monitor inventory, inspect vehicles, and perform preventative maintenance to prevent equipment failures and downtime.
  • Communicate with team members and clients to coordinate and schedule PM activities in an efficient manner.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
  • Operate and inspect machines or vehicles to diagnose defects or functionality problems.
  • Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.
  • Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records, in written or electronic form.
  • Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary.
  • Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to machine and vehicle users.
  • Operate individually and within a team environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance scheduling.
  • Certification from a vocational school or trade school is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of journeyman level mechanic experience required.
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid drivers' license required.
  • Must pass a background and/or Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
