Position Overview:

Deliver an exceptional customer experience through outstanding service. Maintain a safe and hygienic workspace that encourages repeat visits from our clientele. Assist the department manager in achieving sales and profitability targets set for the department while ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards. Key Responsibilities:

• Create an inviting atmosphere that makes customers feel valued and appreciated by addressing inquiries about products available in the department and throughout the store.
• Prepare baked goods according to customer specifications using appropriate bakery tools.
• Provide product samples to assist customers in discovering new items or products they express interest in.
• Inform customers about bakery promotions and specials.
• Ensure customers receive fresh products they have ordered in the correct portion sizes to minimize waste.
• Recommend bakery products to customers to ensure they meet their needs and preferences.
• Utilize all bakery equipment, including refrigerators, freezers, and ovens, in accordance with company protocols.
• Prepare food items following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Properly prepare, package, label, and manage inventory of ingredients.
• Check product quality to guarantee freshness, reviewing expiration dates and taking necessary actions.
• Utilize kitchen equipment, including stoves and scales, appropriately.
• Label, stock, and manage inventory of department merchandise.
• Report any discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the department manager.
• Exhibit a positive demeanor.
• Familiarize yourself with the store layout to assist customers in locating products.
• Stay informed about current, upcoming, seasonal, and special promotions.
• Maintain awareness of inventory and stocking conditions, noting any discrepancies.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in display cases and coolers are maintained and documented.
• Support safety initiatives by following safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions to management.
• Conduct preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate personnel of any repairs needed.
• Report any safety risks or illegal activities, including theft or fraud.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to manage stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic math knowledge.
• Current food handler's permit upon employment.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in bakery or cake decorating.
• Retail experience.
• Proficiency in a second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
