About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a skilled Mainframe Security Engineer to join our team at The Charles Schwab Corporation. As a key member of our Cybersecurity Services team, you will play a critical role in safeguarding and enabling our firm to cultivate client trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on the mainframe security environment, Top Secret, with a focus on risk mitigation.
  • Oversee mainframe system security and system health, ensuring the integrity of our systems and data.
  • Develop and maintain system IDs, operating systems, and security products, as well as administer mainframe certificates.
  • Conduct audits, including the creation of reports for systems IDs and infrastructure, and investigate incidents related to security violations.
  • Strategically contribute to the direction of the RACF and Top Secret architecture at Schwab, identifying opportunities for risk mitigation, improvement, and change.
Requirements
  • 4-6 years of experience in mainframe security, with expertise in multiple operating systems, including Windows, Unix, and mainframe systems.
  • Strong analytical, technical, strategic, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and within teams.
  • Ability to lead small teams in technical tasks, anticipate technical issues, and interface with business and technology partners on projects.
