About the Role

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled Budget Analyst to join the Neighborhood Contracts Unit in the Office of Neighborhood Strategies. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient management of contracts and budget allocations for community-based organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit RQC1 submissions in the FMS3 system for contract actions
  • Track and analyze encumbrance data to identify issues and make recommendations for improvement
  • Coordinate with vendors and contracts teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive tracking structures for appropriations and distributions
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Director of ONS Contracts and make recommendations to improve workflow efficiency
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in a related field, with extensive experience in Financial Management Systems (FMS) and PASSPort
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with City government workings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to think creatively and critically
  • Proven ability to manage projects with multiple stakeholders and meet deadlines
