Raleigh Radiology is seeking a skilled Vascular Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality ultrasound and vascular studies, as well as assisting in vascular procedures alongside our Radiologist and Physician Assistant.
Job SummaryThe Vascular Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for:
- Performing ultrasound and vascular studies in a safe and efficient manner
- Assisting in vascular procedures, including sterile procedure protocols
- Coordinating patient care and following established protocols, policies, and procedures
- Working closely with the Interventional Radiologist to perform interventional procedures
- Reporting to the Technologist-Lead and Senior Manager of Clinical Operations
The Vascular Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for:
- Maintaining standards of professional care and patient confidentiality
- Implementing policies and procedures of Raleigh Radiology
- Performing ordered procedures in a safe and efficient manner
- Assessing patient condition and prioritizing needs
- Reporting and recording pertinent observations and reactions to care rendered
- Assisting with specific tests and procedures as needed
- Participating in economical utilization of supplies
- Assuring that equipment is always maintained and available for use
- Assisting co-workers and physicians in giving care to patients
- Establishing and maintaining open communication
- Assisting with / or instituting emergency measures for sudden adverse occurrences in patients
- Cooperating with other staff members in accomplishment of job duties and assisting others in theirs
- Performing other duties and accepting responsibility as assigned
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Graduated from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Previous experience in a busy office or hospital
- AHA BLS certification or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment
- Ultrasound registry with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- ARDMS with RVT is preferred for Sonographers performing vascular exams
