Job Summary:

UNC Health Rex is seeking a skilled Vascular Technologist to join our team. As a Vascular Technologist, you will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular conditions. You will utilize sonography techniques to provide accurate diagnostic evaluations, working closely with our healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct patient clinical assessments and perform diagnostic medical sonography examinations ordered by supervising physicians in accordance with facility protocols.
  • Apply independent judgment during sonography examinations to ensure that appropriate anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions are accurately captured in examination images.
  • Acquire additional ultrasound imaging as necessary to facilitate optimum diagnostic results for interpreting physicians.
  • Review examination images, synthesize examination results, and prepare preliminary reports for providers.
  • Ensure reports are complete and accurate with all billing requirements.
  • Adhere to all requirements for IAC accreditation, including quality assurance reviews.
  • Assist with the daily operation of a high-paced vascular surgery practice.
  • Assist in prioritizing assigned work based on workflow fluctuations.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology, or a related field within 3 months of hire, or completion of a 12-month ultrasound program within 3 months of hire.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible and become registered within one year from date of hire. Must maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong vascular experience or interest in vascular imaging.
  • Excellent customer service skills, ability to work and prosper in a team environment, proficiency in medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge.
