Tissue Recovery Technician Job Description

DonorConnect is seeking a Per Diem Tissue Recovery Technician to join our team. As a Tissue Recovery Technician, you will be responsible for the recovery of bone, skin, and cardiovascular tissue under the direction of a Tissue Recovery Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of human anatomy and demonstrate excellent aseptic and tissue recovery techniques.
  • Work closely with the Office of the Medical Examiner, hospital, funeral home, and other agency staff as directed by the Tissue Recovery Coordinator.
  • Follow all FDA GTP (Good Tissue Practice) and AATB (American Association of Tissue Banks) standards.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical background (RN, LPN, M.A., O.R. tech, mortician, Tissue Bank Specialist) preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months of a related medical background.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
