Job Summary

AmeriMed is seeking a highly skilled and experienced EMS Shift Commander to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating emergency medical services and overseeing the daily activities of our staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate scheduling of emergency medical systems and operations
  • Oversee the orientation of new staff and ensure they are properly trained and equipped
  • Manage employee issues and behaviors, and assist with hiring and termination processes
  • Maintain transport equipment and checklists, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures
  • Peer review and evaluation of staff performance
  • Develop and implement goals and objectives to achieve desired outcomes
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Requirements
  • Valid State EMS License at the EMT, EMT-I, AEMT, or Paramedic level
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Post-secondary education preferred
  • Three years experience in ambulance services, managerial experience, or two years of previous supervisory experience
