Quality Technician I

As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for conducting various tests on samples to ensure they meet established specifications and are suitable for production and quality assurance. You will meticulously record and review results, issuing notifications for any samples that do not meet specifications. In cases of significant deviations, you will escalate issues accordingly. Your role will also involve supporting the Quality and Safety initiatives of the site. You will perform Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) audits, housekeeping checks, and monitor aging inventory. Additionally, you will calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments.

Shift and Schedule:
This position is full-time and operates on 2nd shift, Monday - Friday (with occasional Saturdays), from 1:30pm - 10:00pm. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays is required as scheduled.

Key Responsibilities

Execute organoleptic and analytical evaluations at various stages of production and packaging to ensure compliance with industry standards. This may involve the use of pH meters, HPLC, Malvern Mastersizer, and other laboratory instruments. Submit samples for microbiological analysis, maintain test records, and calculate necessary batch adjustments for specific products. Authorize batches for packaging and ensure finished products are ready for shipment, while placing non-conforming products on hold for further investigation. Manage corresponding inventory transactions in SAP. Organize and maintain retained samples. Calibrate, clean, and service laboratory equipment and instruments. Prepare reagents and solutions for testing purposes. Monitor conditions and practices in compounding, packaging, and finished goods storage areas, providing recommendations for enhancements.

Total Rewards

Starting pay at $25.46 per hour with an additional $0.75 shift differential. Employees will progress to a higher rate of $26.80 per hour in the quarter following their 6-month anniversary.

Qualifications

High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred A minimum of 2 years of relevant Quality Control experience in a manufacturing setting.
